About CogniStride

What is CogniStride?

CogniStride is a web application for practising and documenting cognitive rehabilitation exercises. It has six exercise modules (working memory, inhibition, visual scanning, everyday executive tasks, word finding, and clock drawing and time) that record results automatically, plus mental-effort pacing, progress charts and documentation tools.

Who is it for?

Occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, neuropsychologists and other rehabilitation clinicians working with people after stroke or traumatic brain injury, and individuals or caregivers who want structured practice at home.

Is CogniStride a diagnostic tool or a medical device?

No. CogniStride does not diagnose, screen for, treat or monitor any condition, and its scores are not validated clinical measures. It is a practice and documentation tool to be used alongside professional judgement.

Does CogniStride administer the MoCA, MMSE or NIHSS?

No. You can record scores from assessments you have already given, and CogniStride shows their usual severity bands. The instruments themselves are not included.

What research is it based on?

Each module follows a published task format, such as the n-back, Stroop, Flanker, star cancellation, semantic feature analysis and clock drawing. The original references are listed on the Methods & references page. CogniStride itself has not been tested in clinical studies.

Patient data and privacy

Where is patient data stored?

In the browser on the device you use, separately for each CogniStride account. Patient profiles, results and drawings are not stored on CogniStride servers. Our servers store your account and subscription details.

Can I use CogniStride on more than one device?

Your account works on any device, but patient records do not sync between devices or browsers. Use the same browser for a patient’s sessions. Clinician Pro can move records with a backup file.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Clearing site data or cookies for cognistride.app deletes the patient records stored in that browser, and they cannot be recovered. Clinician Pro users should download regular backups.

Does CogniStride use cookies or tracking?

A session cookie keeps you signed in. The website may use Plausible, a cookieless analytics service that does not identify visitors. In the studio, analytics events never include patient information.

Plans, trials and billing

How much does it cost?

Individual is $9.99/month, Clinician Basic $29/month (up to 15 patients) and Clinician Pro $59/month (unlimited patients, SOAP drafts, goals and backups). Yearly billing gives two months free.

How does the free trial work?

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. A card is required at checkout, but nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel from your account before then. One trial per account.

How do I change plan or cancel?

Go to Account → Manage billing. You can switch plans or billing interval, update your card, download invoices or cancel. After cancelling, access continues to the end of the paid period.

What are the demo patients?

Clinician accounts include three demo patients with sample history so you can try every module. They are read-only: results are shown but not saved, they cannot be edited, exported or used for notes, and they do not count toward your plan’s patient limit. You can hide them once you have added your own patients.

Can a clinic buy one account for several clinicians?

Not at the moment. Each clinician needs their own account, and patient records are not shared between accounts.

Using the studio

What do I need to use it?

A current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer, laptop or tablet, and an internet connection to sign in. Speakers help with spoken cues; voice answers in the word-finding module need a microphone and Chrome or Edge.

Does it work on phones?

The studio can open on a phone, but the exercises are designed for larger screens. A tablet or computer is recommended, especially for star cancellation and clock drawing.

What accessibility options are there?

Zoom to 200%, Atkinson Hyperlegible and OpenDyslexic fonts, light, dark and high-contrast themes, read-aloud for any text, and switch control with manual or automatic scanning.

Is CogniStride available in other languages?

Not yet. The interface, exercises and word lists are in English.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Use “Forgot password?” on the log-in page to get a reset link by email. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder or contact support@cognistride.app.
